General

Sources are the way to get new data into the platform. Most of the time, a source will create one or more devices and tags in the workspace where the source is set up. There are different types of sources. Examples are;

  • Sensori Agent (FTP/HTTP/Etc). The agent pushes device data via the source into the workspace.

  • OpenWeather fetch API. The platform gets new data from the OpenWeather api at the configured interval.

  • Etc.

Creation

A source can be created in a workspace. Devices created for the source with automatically come into the workspace. In case of a fetch type source, there will be need to create a task task that will schedule when to fetch data.

Configuration

FTP

Devices that send data via FTP can do this via the Sensori FTP agent. After you created the source in a workspace you can forward us the API user credentials to that we can set up the new FTP user.

  1. Go to the workspace where the new devices should appear.

  2. Go the the sources of the workspace.

  3. Create a source of type API with format agent and click save.

  4. Click reset and show password, be sure to note this down somewhere.

  5. Send the key and password to support@sensori.cloud.

  6. We will send you your FTP credentials as soon as possible.

  7. When you receive the FTP credentials you can put them into your device and see the device appear in your workspace.

HTTP / HTTPS

Devices or other platforms that send data over HTTP will go through the Sensori agent. The only this that is needed is setting up a source of the corresponding type in a workspace its sources.
